User guide

The tutorials show how to run FPsim. This user guide covers the areas where users most often need to go further: fitting the model to a setting, changing what contraceptive methods exist and who uses them, and composing FPsim with other Starsim modules.

• Calibration – what FPsim fits, how mismatch is computed, and how to recalibrate a location.
• Contraception – how methods are defined, how choice is modeled, and how to introduce a new method.
• Integrated modeling – worked examples of running FPsim in the same simulation as other Starsim modules, for analyses that neither module could do alone.

Each section starts with an explanation of how the mechanism works, followed by how-to topics for specific tasks.
